Lion Chaser’s Manifesto October 18, 2007
Read it. Post it. Live it.
Quit living as if the purpose of life is to arrive safely at death. Set God-sized goals. Pursue God-ordained passions. Go after a dream that is destined to fail without divine intervention. Keep asking questions. Keep making mistakes. Keep seeking God. Stop pointing out problems and become part of the solution. Stop repeating the past and start creating the future. Stop playing it safe and start taking risks. Expand your horizons. Accumulate experiences. Enjoy the journey. Find every excuse you can to celebrate everything you can. Live like today is the first day and last day of your life. Don’t let what’s wrong with you keep you from worshiping what’s right with God. Burn sinful bridges. Blaze a new trail. Criticize by creating. Worry less about what people think and more about what God thinks. Don’t try to be who you’re not. Be yourself. Laugh at yourself. Quit holding out. Quit holding back. Quit running away.
Chase the lion.

4 Steps to “Flip Your House” October 1, 2007

No matter how long we have been married, at some point of or another we stray off track. We at times think that we have this whole married thing figured out. As soon as we think that, satan comes into our lives and wreaks havocs. Our homes are no longer sain or a haven of rest. They are chaotic households lacking God. Yesterday 4 couples from our group went to the hometown of James Perryman, Shelbyville, TN for a marriage seminar. Hopefully all of us walked away with a sense of renewal and hope for our marriages. I know I did. In the morning service, Clay and Renee Crosse did a wonderful job of communicating 4 easy principles to flip your house and be a Holy Home. Here is the recap.
Step 1- Call in the inspector
What needs to go from our house and what needs to be added.
Bibles are dusty
Tv’s always on
Not Talking- communication is lacking
no Prayer
Step 2- Check the Foundation
God’s Word has to be our foundation, if our families aren’t being infused with the word, our foundation will fail and fall.
Here are some of the shoddy foundations that we lean on that are false.
1. Money
2. Health
3. Appearance- curb appeal- everything looks good on the outside.
Matthew 7:24-25 says Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock.
Step 3- “Check the Roof”
We are to cover our home in prayer. Be intentional about prayer in your home. Men have to really be the spiritual leader in the home in regards to prayer.
Only 0.3 % of couples pray together in their homes. That is a staggering statistic
Step 4- Throw a Party
Celebrate for what God has done.
If you see one of these 4 steps lacking in your life, you may to need to sit down with your spouse and talk about how to change that. It is not too late, you can still have the life and the marriage that God desires you to have.
